“And when I passed by thee and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, ‘Live’; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, ‘Live.’” - Ezekiel 16:6
The Lord told our Pastor, Chief Apostle Gunn, at the end of February that He has warned us repeatedly about the filth and pollution we have chosen to dwell in through our actions and decisions, yet none have truly repented. He said there is a cost to repentance, meaning there are actions and changes that must be rendered unto God.
Chief Apostle Gunn said, the Lord said true repentance is not just confessing or saying "I'm sorry" because after that, we often return to the same old filthy ways.
He said, sometimes, we only repent when we are caught, exposed, or called out. True repentance means true change. As Chief Apostle Gunn has often told us, repentance is turning away from something and moving to a higher place—spiritually and mentally. It’s about choosing to rise from the outhouse to the penthouse.
But we must examine ourselves to see if we prefer the filth of the outhouse over the orderliness of the penthouse. During a prayer service this month, Chief Apostle Gunn shared that the Lord revealed to him how, when He created the earth, His primary focus was setting it in order — because decent and order are important to God and are part of His holiness and divine plan. When we refuse to live in decency and order, we are choosing to remain in the state the earth was in before the time of creation—dark, void, and without form, as described in Genesis 1.
Here’s an example of God’s order and structure in Genesis 1:
“7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. 9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.”
We must decide today whether we want to keep living in filth or live in order. We need to rid ourselves of an outhouse mindset.
God is holy, so He cannot dwell in filth. If we desire and are comfortable with filth and pollution, it should be a clear indication of how far we are from God. We would never purposely stay in a filthy hotel room on our vacation or business travels, so why do we want or expect our souls and the Holy Ghost to dwell in such a condition.
Historically, outhouses were considered unclean. The ground beneath them was polluted, they reeked with odor, attracted pests, and caused disease. Beneath them was a pit designed to hold waste. But when modern, sanitary toilet options were invented, people began to convert to them. Are we still unconverted, choosing to live in nastiness—nasty ways, thoughts, habits, words, attitudes, feelings, ingratitudes, and constantly drawn to nasty people, homes, lifestyles, activities, and content?
James 1:21: “Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.”
2 Chronicles 29:5: “And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.”
God made the earth and mankind to operate in order and not chaos and confusion. He told Chief Apostle Gunn to remind people he, himself, is coming back home soon and very soon. He is returning to the place he built . Do we want him to return and find us in the state we are in?
