Cooperate With the Blood: The Watch Letter

Recently at The Body of Christ, Inc., Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn said, “Cooperate with the blood.”
As I was preparing to write this post, God made those words Chief Apostle Gunn preached so vivid.
He took me back to when I had to get two blood transfusions due to severe anemia some years ago.
When you get a blood transfusion, your body has to accept the donor blood. If it rejects it, it can cause life‑threatening complications.
At the time I had those transfusions, my body and organs were shutting down. I was losing vitality and stability, and I didn’t realize what was happening until I arrived at the hospital. But all along, my Pastor, Chief Apostle Gunn, was continuously praying for me and decreeing that the bleeding condition I was battling would resolve and dry up like the woman with the issue of blood in the Bible.
Needless to say, my body accepted the donor blood I received, and I have not had to have a blood transfusion since then. And even now, when anemic battles come, they form but don’t prosper. I am able to decree what was already prayed and spoken over me and remind the enemy that I have already been healed thanks to the instruction of my Pastor.
Today is the day we decide: Will we reject the blood or cooperate with it, so that we may receive the transfusion of Jesus’s healing and delivering power in our lives?
Many of us are spiritually anemic. We are bleeding out. And although there was blood already prepared to address our condition on the cross through Jesus’s sacrifice, we have not accepted it. We could be going to church every Sunday, receiving counseling and encouragement from our Pastor every week, yet still rejecting the blood sent for our deliverance.
People whose bodies accept the blood being transfused into them are able to breathe better, avoid danger to their organs, receive balance in their heart’s blood volume, combat severe infections, strengthen bone marrow, receive cures from disorders, and ultimately have their lives saved.
The only way to accept the blood shed for our salvation from sin, healing from every form of physical, spiritual and mental sickness, and from the sorrows of life, is to surrender. And that’s where the problem lies.
In order to get a blood transfusion, you have to let the nurses and doctors put in an IV and inject the blood. You have to be patient and endure as long as it takes while the transfusion takes place. But because of pride, unwillingness, fear, compromise, ambition, and the like, we have not been letting God—through His Word, Spirit, and the vessels He uses—infuse us with the wonder‑working power of the blood of the Lamb. We would rather go through life‑threatening complications than let go of our will and way. The Lord is trying to infuse His life into ours, but we have to choose to give up our bad blood for His good blood.
I noted that Hebrews 10:4 says it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. As Chief Apostle Gunn’s companion, Apostle Felicia Gunn, always says, God doesn’t waste words. Bulls and goats are some of the most stubborn and hard‑headed creatures on earth. And often we can act just like them when we are stuck in our way or choose not to cooperate with the Lord. But as the Word says, no matter how much bulls’ and goats’ blood was shed for sacrifice to receive relief, comfort, or atonement, it would never be enough—or pure enough—to save a soul.
Chief Apostle Gunn said that in order to accept or cooperate with the blood, we need to:
Lay down undue concern and the burdens we are carrying. (We are still trying to be our own Jesus, carrying a cross we cannot bear.)
Be still before God and keep giving our “self” to Him. (You can’t get a blood transfusion without being willing to lay down, let go, and let the doctors and nurses work.)
Acknowledge our backslidden state so we can be healed. (If you don’t acknowledge the symptoms and come to get help for them, the doctor can’t help you get better.)
Hebrews 9:
12 “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.”
13 “For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:”
14 “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
