Don't Let Love Go, Part 2

On this week's FORREAL Radio Broadcast, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn revisits last week’s message of "Don’t Let Love Go" with part 2 in this series.

The message started off with Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn teaching from Philemon. He said: "What the world needs NOW is love. What the saints need now is love. But, not just any kind of love, the love of God has to be expressed --- The love of God that comes out of our hearts and is being shown.

The message brought forth the question: What purpose is it to say you love, yet no one can testify to it because you never show Jesus to anybody?

In Philemon, Paul writes about a runaway slave who did wrong (stole from) toward his master.

The former slave ran into Paul and became a Christian brother and profitable unto him. This is a message to the church: Don’t Let Love Go.

It’s a message about genuine love and forgiveness.

Philemon 1-2, says:

1 Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,

2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house.

Here we see that Philemon is dearly beloved and also called a brother (Chief also pointed out a bold statement in this passage: "Don’t despise a small church," in reference to Paul honoring the church in a house.)

Continuing unto verses10-12, it reads:

10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:

11 Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:

12 Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:

Saints we have to get past our spiritual bankruptcy, wallowing in deceitful emotions, and learn to forgive, love, and show Jesus. This is the path to restoration, and healing away from bitterness. This is a path to restore a brother, or a saint who is lost and wandering.

We have all been there and the same way God has extended his saving grace to us, he expects nothing less from us regarding someone else. God is saying to us let go of the offense, but Don’t Let Love Go.

Chief Apostle H. C. Gunn stressed the point of not just praying for grace by watering it down and taking it as a small thing like we often do. He said we need to use the grace that’s already deposited on the inside of us, as well as let go of “the idea church, and get back into the Godly church”.

God offers his grace, but we have to realize its true value. The word in 2 Corinthians 12:9 states:

“ And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

God’s grace is sufficient, so let’s put it to use saints. We can do it if we choose to, we can do it when, we as the first part of the series brought to our attention, get back to calling on Jesus.

Jesus is a gentleman so he won’t force himself on us, be we are being called to choose, to want what God wants, and he’s speaking of grace.

If we let go of the love of God, unlike Paul whom the word called a prisoner of Christ, we will essentially be runaway slaves. A slave to the world is a slave to sin, but a slave to Jesus has grace within.
