Unmeasurable Grace

“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”
Psalm 103:12 KJV
We cannot really measure how far east is from west, and depending on where you are standing, east and west can be in different directions. In reality, the space between them is infinite because we can’t measure the distance; it will keep going forever.
That is what God is saying. He will always and infinitely remove our transgressions if we sincerely ask for repentance. He doesn’t measure or count how many times he has forgiven us because he is a forgiving father, and he lets it go instantly. Yes, we must face consequences for our actions, but God has removed our transgressions.
Many times we have sinned or been disobedient, but God is merciful. Jesus died for all our sins because he knew the fallen nature we have. It’s up to us to choose to serve God and not sin. If we willingly choose to sin, we are deciding to live that way, but if we try every day to live right and be holy, God will give us the strength to overcome daily temptations.
God is ready to forgive us, and we have to be ready to forgive others.
I thank God for his mercy and grace, because we all deserve hell, but God saw fit to give us a chance to be redeemed, saved, and have another opportunity to live with him. We can’t take God’s forgiveness for granted; it’s a precious gift. Because who doesn’t want to be forgiven?
God knows what we have done, but he said that if we truly repent and turn away from the sin, he will forget it. God loves us, and he does everything he can to help us make it home to live forever with him, but it’s a daily decision and a daily sacrifice, and we must decide.
