God is Patient, But Don't Take Him for Granted

Exodus 34:6, “And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.”

2 Peter 3:9. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.’"

Jesus is patient with us. God doesn’t want us to perish; he wants us to live eternally with him. Look back throughout your life and see all the places God was patient with you. But aren’t you glad he was? For those who are saved, God was patient with us a lot. We've made not very bright decisions, we try to avoid God sometimes, we lack in our relationship with God, and yet he is still patient with us. Since God is patient with us, we should be patient with others.

Sometimes it may take someone 20 years to get saved or 2 years. Even though the sooner you get saved the better, God was patient with you the whole time. But we can’t take God’s patience for granted. Yes, he is patient with us, but one day your time may run out. Get saved early!

You shouldn’t want to wait until your last days to try to get saved. Do it now! But don’t get saved just to avoid hell, for protection, or for what you can get, etc.

God sacrificed his son for us, and Jesus died for us. Jesus has been patient with all of us and we should genuinely appreciate it.

What if God had a time limit on us? For example, God could’ve said, “You have 30 days to get saved.” But, no he didn't. He knew how long it would take for us to come to him. But he was patient. Why? Because he loves his children. He wants us to live with him forever!

That is so precious! But don’t take God's patience for granted.
